University Pathways

If you want to go on to further study at university, TAFE Queensland has a pathway option to get you there. In many cases, completing one of our diplomas will give you a full year of credit towards a degree with one of our partner universities. That means cutting down the amount of time you need to complete your degree, or even enrolling straight into the second year of your university course.

Entry Requirements

  • English Language Proficiency: IELTS 6.0 (no individual band less than 5.5, except the writing band which should be no less than 6.0) or ISLPR 2+ on all skills or other – Click here for a list of all English Language test accepted by TAFE Queensland International
  • Academic Requirements: Completion of Year 12 (or equivalent) with a Sound Achievement in English; or Satisfactory completion of CN649/CNJ30 Preparatory Studies – TGN151 Technical Communication or Recognised Certificate III or IV. Non school-leavers must have relevant work experience or qualification that indicates likely success of course completion. Students should be a minimum of 18 years of age. It is recommended that students have access to a reliable internet connection to access TAFE Queensland’s online learning system Connect and a computer with up-to-date software, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Reader and Adobe Flash Player. This equipment and software is available for students to use at all TAFE Queensland locations.

Courses may require different resources, depending on your study location;

Your timetable may change every semester and you must be able to manage your commitments to ensure attendance at all your classes.

Some qualifications require students to participate in vocational placement to successfully complete and achieve their TAFE Queensland award. If vocational placement is a course requirement it will be organised by your School/Faculty and you will be provided with all the information you need to prepare. Remember you are responsible for ensuring you have met all the requirements to participate in vocational placement.
